Updated: Aug 15

As the school days come to an end for the summer holidays, it's the perfect time for kids to embark on new adventures. What better way to spend those August weeks than by stepping into the enchanting world of musical theatre?

Our kids' summer camp promises an unforgettable experience filled with creativity, fun, and lots of music! From August 16th to 30th, youngsters will embark on a theatrical journey, creating a different show each week. Each Friday, they will proudly perform their creations, showcasing the costumes they’ve crafted and the stories they’ve brought to life. Let’s take a peek at the exciting themes lined up for this summer!

Week 1: Classics Come to Life - Annie and Oliver

Kicking off our camp, we’ll explore the timeless classics that have captured hearts for generations. These are the musicals chosen for the acting:

  • Annie: The story of the optimistic orphan girl will teach children about resilience, hope, and the importance of family.

  • Oliver!: This adaptation of Charles Dickens’ novel offers a chance for kids to step back in time to the streets of Victorian London.

Throughout the week, children will create their own costumes to embody these beloved characters. By Friday, they’ll be ready to perform scenes that highlight the universal themes of hope, courage, and the power of a positive attitude.

Week 2: Modern Magic and Timeless Adventures -Encanto and Peter Pan

The second week takes campers on a whirlwind tour of more recent hits and everlasting adventures.

  • Encanto: This enchanting story of the Madrigal family, with its magical realism and vibrant Colombian culture, will inspire children to embrace their uniqueness.

  • Peter Pan: Off to Neverland! Kids will join Peter Pan, Wendy, and the Lost Boys in their adventures against Captain Hook.

As with the first week, campers will design and create costumes for their characters. The week will culminate in a Friday performance, blending contemporary charm and classic wonder, encouraging children to dream big and embrace their inner hero.

Week 3: Create Your Own Musical - Are You Ready for the Challenge?

The final week is all about unleashing creativity and originality. Children will put their newfound skills to the test as they craft their very own musical, using everything they’ve learned and performed in the first two weeks to inspire their unique creation.

In this exciting challenge, kids will:

  • Develop a Story: From brainstorming plot ideas to creating unique characters, campers will learn the fundamentals of storytelling.

  • Design Sets and Costumes: Creativity will flow as they design the visual elements of their show, learning about set design and costume creation.

  • Choose Existing Songs: To complement their original story, campers will select songs from already well-loved musicals, integrating these tunes with their own dances and scenes.

By the end of the week, the children will have produced a brand-new musical, showcasing their talents and the skills they’ve developed throughout the holiday club. Friday’s performance will be a celebration of their creativity, hard work, and the magical world they’ve built together.

This summer camp promises to be an extraordinary adventure, filled with singing, dancing, and boundless creativity. Each week offers a unique experience, from performing beloved classics to inventing original stories. So, are you ready for the challenge?
